What’s your financial sign?

Reading your horoscope may be a bit of a laugh, but recent research from CreditExpert shows that our star sign may dictate how we manage our money. The Credit Expert Financial Astrology Study shows that Scorpios are the most likely to end a relationship because of money worries, with 12 per cent doing so.
If your star sign is Cancer, then you might bend the truth when it comes to spending and debt. Some 17 per cent of Cancerians do this, which might be why only 15 per cent of Cancerians argue about money issues. The picture is different when it comes to Librans, 44 per cent of whom have disagreements about spending or borrowing. Sagittarians are the next most argumentative, at 39 per cent.
The CreditExpert Financial Astrology Study surveyed more than 1,700 people. It found that only five per cent of people whose star sign is Capricorn or Aries have lied to their partners about money, making them the most financially honest of all star signs.
Taureans are most confident about their credit rating with about 46 per cent thinking it is excellent. Only a third of Librans think their credit rating is excellent. If you’re a Pisces or Aquarian you are probably comfortable with your level of borrowing. Forty- three per cent of Pisceans think their credit rating is excellent or very good, compared to 34 per cent of Aquarians.
Jim Hodgkins, Managing Director of CreditExpert.co.uk, says: ‘Regardless of whether you take astrology seriously, the survey shows that there are a lot of people with great concerns about their spending and borrowing. Instead of looking to horoscopes for solutions to their financial problems, they’d be better off looking at their credit reports. Your credit history is part of your financial CV and if it doesn’t reflect your current status, lenders may be less inclined to offer you credit in the future. ‘
