Platform receives 'best sub-prime lender' awardMortgage provider Platform has been named the best lender of sub-prime mortgages at the annual Hamptons awards.

This is the ninth accolade which has been given to Platform, which is the intermediary lender of Britannia, this year.

According to the provider, it has made a number of "wide-ranging improvements" to its mortgage range in the past 12 months, including increasing income multiples and raising the loan-to-value level on its buy-to-let mortgage to 90 per cent.

Platform has also launched an online application facility which it says has proved "highly successful".

Commenting on the support that these initiatives have given to its business, Platform managing director David Tweedy said: "We are delighted with this success and look forward to an exciting year ahead."

He added: "To receive this highly acclaimed award is a credit to everyone associated with Platform and it is especially pleasing to win an award in the product sector that we have operated in for nearly ten years."

The Hamptons awards ceremony took place at the Vinopolis Wine Museum on November 23rd, where an independent panel decided the winners.
