British women's lifetime beauty bill
October 18, 2007
The average British woman spends a huge six-figure amount on beauty products during a lifetime, new research has found.
CIS Co-operative Insurance puts the sum spent by the typical female in the UK on beauty care at £180,000.
Results from a survey undertaken by the provider show that an average of £253 a month is spent on creating a ‘beautiful body’.
Danny Hurley, head of pensions at CIS, explained that women should look ahead and consider their financial situation in years to come.
"The issue of how under-pensioned people in this country are is paramount and women in particular should be thinking about their financial future far more seriously and not just have the ‘live for today’ attitude," he explained.
According to the calculations of CIS, over 16 per cent of a woman in the UK’s monthly income is spent on beauty products, based on taking home the average of £1,548.
