Orange customers given broadband upgrade

September 18, 2007

Orange customers given broadband upgradeOrange has announced that its £14.99-a-month dial-up service will end in December, but that customers currently signed up to the deal will be given a free upgrade up to the broadband service that the company offers.

However SimplySwitch, the independent financial advisor, has urged customers to shop around before they accept the upgrade, as there are "far better deals available".

"For £14.99, customers could get much higher connection speeds or unlimited download allowances," SimplySwitch founder Karen Darby pointed out to Orange users.

She continued: "If they’re prepared to ‘bundle’ their home phone and broadband together, the deals get even better.

"Instead of accepting the new deal automatically, we urge customers to shop around and see what they could get for their money."

Meanwhile, reports suggest that O2 has secured a contract to distribute the eagerly-anticipated iPhone in the UK.
