Nearly all parking fine appeals are won by drivers

According to a recent report nearly all parking fine appeals that are made are won by drivers in the UK. The report claims that around 94% of parking fine appeals are won by drivers, with drivers winning nine out of ten cases when the appeal against the fine.
In a six month period over 9,500 fines that were issued by Westminster were taken to an independent adjudicator, and the council lost more than 8.900 of the cases, which equates to around 94% of the cases. It also lost around 96% of moving traffic offence appeals, which includes blocking yellow box junctions in the road.
One firm that helps drivers to appeal against fines said that when drivers make an informal complaint some councils purposely dismiss the complaint, hoping that the driver will then simply give up and pay the fine anyway.
An official from the firm said: ‘The statistics demonstrate councils’ intent to maintain duress on motorists for the longest possible period. It shows councils are abusing the system, especially when they don’t even defend the tickets at appeal. It sends out a message to the public: should those tickets have been issued at all? This is a wholly unacceptable attempt to maximise income.’

I am annoyed with the country continuing to rob those who work hard for a living with little ploys such as parking fines. I have received a couple recently and they pounce after about 1 minute - why on earth are they not tackling proper crime?? because its an easy way of making a few quid and usually people just accept it. RIP OFF BRITAIN. those that work hard and have busy lives are supporting the country but we remain to be the number one target for a country full of greed.
