AA doesn’t make the grade in roadside rescue survey
August 8, 2008
Whilst the AA is considered by many people to be the number one roadside rescue company, possible because it is a longstanding company and enjoys plenty of exposure from advertising, the result of a recent survey showed that it didn’t even make the top four when it comes to roadside assistance.
The research involved polling around thirty two thousand drivers, and out of the eleven roadside assistance companies included in the research the AA came in at a surprisingly poor seventh.
The study was undertaken for the magazine Auto Express, and in addition to reliability companies were also graded on customer service, friendliness, and overall service.
The number one spot in the survey was taken by a company called GEM Motoring Assist. Churchill took the dubious bottom place of the eleven companies included in the survey.
An official from Auto Express said: ‘Biggest isn’t always best. The lesser-known and smaller recovery firms generally outshone the big boys.’
An AA official said: ‘Regular independent polling among our 15 million members consistently shows that 95% would recommend the AA to family and friends.’ Other well know companies included the RAC, which came third on the list, and Green Flag, which came in at number 6.
