Skipton launches new insurance packages
June 14, 2006
The Skipton Building Society has launched three new insurance packages, which it claims builds on its “longstanding position” as a home insurance provider.
Customers will now be offered insurance services to cover their cars and pets, as well as options for those travelling abroad.
A new motor insurance option will offer up to £50,000 legal expenses cover, a courtesy car while repairs are carried out and breakdown cover from £63.
Pet insurance from Skipton will offer cover for up to £5,000 and legal liability costs of up to £1 million, as well as a free veterinary helpline.
The travel package from the building society will incorporate up to £10 million medical treatment cover and up to £25,000 personal accident cover, as well as pre-travel advice on issues such as visas, inoculations and motoring restrictions.
Steve Aldous, general manager at Skipton, said: “Insurance is all about protecting the things we value and ensuring should something go wrong, we’re all as well equipped as possible to deal with it.
“That’s why we’ve expanded Skipton’s protection range to include motor, pet and travel insurance, so that our customers can feel safe in all areas of their life.”
Skipton is the seventh largest building society in the UK, with a total of 79 branches across Britain.
