Visa is Europe’s ‘most trusted credit card brand’
May 25, 2006
Visa is the most trusted credit card brand in 13 out of 14 countries in Europe according to a poll of Reader’s Digest magazine subscribers.
The survey, the results of which were reported on Visa’s website, asked respondents to nominate brands they trusted the most out of a wide range of products, then rated the brands against criteria such as quality, value, image and understanding of customer needs
The European survey polled respondents in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Each country, with the exception of Hungary, selected Visa as the most trusted credit card brand - although critics may argue that the existence of just two major rivals in most markets (MasterCard and American Express) rather detracts from this result.
Nevetheless, John Elkins, head of global brand and marketing at Visa, was pleased by the poll: “At the heart of our brand promise is the trust that exists between buyer and seller which enables people everywhere to take advantage of life’s opportunities with confidence and ease. We’re proud that this poll has validated that promise.”
