Harpers at Downham leisure centre dont accpet the vouchers even though they are advetised as doing so on the web site!!!!! Very embarrassing situation, this all should have been sorted out before the tickets were issued.

  10. Peter on May 27th, 2008 1:00 pm

    Debbie,

I agree it must have been very embarrassing. Have you complained to Kellogs?

Anyone else taking up this offer should call their local swimming pool before they arrive to avoid problems

  11. Katy on May 31st, 2008 9:24 am

Make a little effort and stop the moaning!!

  16. sue on June 17th, 2008 9:26 pm

what a joke ok if you have one of these places on your doorstep but i cannot leave disabled hubby long enough to go for a swim the offer i thought should have been for council pools at least that way the not so well off could have had a family day out for free.just wonder how much these private companys have paid kellogs or is it the other way round you scratch my back and i will scratch yours .so my last word on the subject is nestle shredded wheat here i come and stuff the cornflakes

  24. awsomehiggins on July 10th, 2008 3:29 pm

  25. Jack Grimble on July 11th, 2008 4:59 pm

How do I find a list of sites in Buckinghamshire.Berkshire the only ones I can find on the web site are in Ireland which is a long way to go for a free swim

  26. deb on July 11th, 2008 10:11 pm

what rubbish thought it was to good to be true

  27. wendy webster on July 12th, 2008 4:18 pm

my local pool was accepting the swim vouchers so i stocked up on cornflakes.now our pool hav a sign up saying no vouchers will be accepted after 18th july which is the start of school hols when we wanted to use them this is unfair seeing that the vouchers are valid until next year .

  28. paula on July 19th, 2008 10:14 am

just been on all kelloggs free swim sites, not that it helped much, still confused, was all double dutch to me. would like to know if i can use vouchers at water world in stroke on trent, and sand castle world in blackpool.

  29. Karen on July 23rd, 2008 2:38 pm

Took vouchers to Waterworld Lesiure Park at York but not allowed to use them in leisure area only for lane swimming – what a waste of time and very misleading. Agree with other comments why can’t they be used at any pool???

  30. shekeema on July 27th, 2008 6:22 pm

does newham leisure centre accept the vouchers

  31. youngdon on July 27th, 2008 7:26 pm

  32. Maddie on August 5th, 2008 8:00 pm

I’m a swimming teacher at my local pool and was very upset to find out my pool wasn’t using these vouchers. You would be suprised at the amount of nonswimmer that come swimming with schools. Some of these children have never been in a pool before. This would have been an ideal opportunity for many.

  33. Caron on August 11th, 2008 9:38 am

Fact : There is no such thing as a free lunch! A few people, if they plan ahead and are well organised will benifit from this promotion.

Let’s not berate Kellogg’s for a very positive and sports focused marketing campaign, (much better than a plastic toy that is over-packaged and ends up in land-fill!

Council run pools are unlikely to buy into this scheme because there would be no revenue stream created.

Not great news for those who subscribe to a private gym now over-run by crunchy nut swimmers!

  34. chris giblin on August 14th, 2008 2:55 pm

The vouchers work very well a couple of months ago in OLDHAM but now the leisure dept for the borough have stopped the use of the vouchers as they report they have lost £1000’s because of the free swim.
So yet again a free swim to keep your children off the streets and give them a heathly pass time has been dashed without any consultation with the rate payers.

The council could have imposed a free swim for up to 2 children with every paying adult .

  35. demilee on August 14th, 2008 7:45 pm

we need a webste telling us where there are pools to go to coz i might go to 1 and they dont accept it

  36. demilee julia fellows on August 14th, 2008 7:46 pm

we need a websit telling us were and when we can use it

  37. joanne on August 25th, 2008 9:49 am

i think this whole thing is a joke there are no places accepting vouchers in my area, by the time i’ve travelled to nearest place it would be cheaper to pay for swim. all i can say is what a con once again

  38. Kitty on August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm

Am I the only one to see the benefit of this offer? I’ve just had a lovely free swim in a deserted pool at a swanky hotel. I also got to use the steam room and sauna. I could never afford to do this normally and it felt like such a treat compared to my local council pool which is always packed albeit closer. I for one shall be eating much more cereal from now on.

  39. Darren Huseyin on August 31st, 2008 11:08 am

Just advising everyone that a trial run of free swimming for all under 18 year olds has recently been completed in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.

Within a short period of time it will come into effect across the country for a year.

    Hope this helps.

I am so angry – I stocked up on the cereals, and have been taking my toddler swimming once a week for a few months, and have just been told that the offer is being withdrawn in 2 weeks and I have got 8 vouchers left. I am going to stand outside and hand them out on the last day because I don’t want them wasted, but what a shame. I can’t afford to go swimming every week because it’s so damn expensive – I bob around for 20 minutes splashing with my son in an empty pool where the only people in it are old people swimming gently up and down because it’s too expensive for families – why can’t they make it £1 or 2 for an under 8 plus an adult helper, then we’d all go anyway and there wouldn’t be any excuse for children not swimming or getting exercise. It’s such a shame and I am really annoyed now.

our local pools started off accepting the vouchers which was great at first so bought more cereal but then they pulled out of the promotion saying that kellogs weren’t paying up and they were losing too much money over it so now we are left with no where to go with these vouchers. very disappointing as we can’t really afford to go swimming that often and it good for the kids.

  43. diane on September 10th, 2008 4:18 pm

have been buying cereal for the free swim vouchers so i could take my son and friend swimming only to find out they can not be used locally.I feel like i have been had by this promotion of kelloggs.

  44. Tony on October 4th, 2008 4:56 pm

Local pool had been taking them here in Honiton, but they have stopped due to Kelloggs not being prepared to reimburse them!!!

  45. diana on October 12th, 2008 4:30 pm

I was told by freedon leisure centre that they will no longet accept the vouchers even though they are valid until april. I live in Eastbourne and the nearest pool to me that will take them is in East Grinstead.
Will more swimming pools be taking them soon I have 10 to use

  46. Karen on October 27th, 2008 5:50 pm

Since the half term holiday’s these vouchers are worthless!!!! Where I go you cannot use them at weekends only Monday to Friday AM only, whats the use of that when the kids are at school. Even the other local swimming pool won’t accept them even though they are on your site.

  47. isla on 29 october 2008 on October 29th, 2008 4:15 pm

I’ve got loads of vouchers too. Are there any places on Anglesey which take them?
Is this a big con by kelloggs to get us to buy their products?

  48. Kiley on November 5th, 2008 8:14 am

I have just read some of the above comment, what a negative bunch you are. I have been using the free swim vouchers since May with no problem. There are two pools in Rugby which allow the use of the vouchers. One municipal and one private gym (of which I am a member). One of the reasons I think I have had success is purely down to following the instructions on the packet. EG – Call participating pool prior to travelling!

For those of you who have collected vouchers and feel it’s been a con and have no longer any use for them, please, please, send them to me. Thanks

  49. Jane on November 29th, 2008 3:58 pm

hi. my sis and i have had months of free swimming at the local hilton and local pool with the vouchers and saved ourselves a packet and got fit.

we did have one hiccup asthe local pool refused to let us in saying they weren’t part taking in the offer anymore. i emailed kellogs who sorted it out straight away., sorry to you girls and guys who have had no luck with this offer – but it’s been fantastic for us.

  50. sal on December 2nd, 2008 9:39 pm

Fab offer. been having free swims for months. when not admitted at malvern pool, i contacted kelloggs and they sorted it. I got 15 vouchers left so thats free swims for the next few months. Cant believe the number of people that cant spell kelloggs. sally

  51. Paul Cross on January 5th, 2009 8:31 pm

Hi , i think it was a great idea with theys kelloggs swim vouchers, i bought lots of cereal, and have eaten alot more.
i have been useing them at this private pool at this Jim in Lincoln , they have now stopped me useing them which i thought was a bit harsh, im now left with lots of vouchers, can they do this , do they make the ruls up as they go to suit themselves, Paul

  52. gavin on January 18th, 2009 11:24 am

    Site is down again

  53. Kat on February 18th, 2009 1:44 pm

What a shame so many people always looks for the bad in offers! It doesn’t work for everyone but works for a lot so maybe we should be a little more grateful!!
Our local pool actually suggested we use them which I thought was great. It gives me a chance to take my daughter to a lovely pool for a change.
    Thanks Kelloggs!!

  54. Balraj on February 22nd, 2009 9:58 am

  55. Rob on March 8th, 2009 8:31 pm

Hi my girl went swimming with her friend at WORTHING swimming pool and was told she could not use them . So where can my girl use the voucher in west sussex ?

  56. ros on March 19th, 2009 11:04 am

hiya i found this was a good promo yes there are some pools that dont take them but ring first and check on kellogs website it is all very clear. I got about forty swims free so far and have jsut moved to wales and the kids swim free here anyway at weekends and hols so great i dont pay for me either. i dont have car but still get on bike and cycle so it is freeeeeee. Have jsut found out that the aqua dome in port talbot takes them so will take kids this weekend. The offer is still valid till april 19th i think and it was on kellogs winder packets and all different cereals so i had a variety. But you gotta eat the cerals to make it worth while.

Got something to say?
