i do not know how long this has been illegal for, but the amount of drivers that i still see using mobile phones is ridiculous!
handsfree kits and parrots etc are not as dear as they used to be, and lets be honest is any phone call that important that it's worth risking killing yourself or someone else just to answer it.
i know there are arguements that we change channel on the radio, or unwrap a biscuit whilst driving, or even shout at the kids in the back - but i do believe that mobiles are more dangerous.
i am not sure of the current penalties for using a mobile phone in the car, i don't think penalty points are the answer - people feel the pinch much more in their pocket - or a stint of community service would get the message across - because they could be doing a stint inside if they kill someone!
