NatWest, Lloyds change credit card travel rewardsUK airline easyJet is to be involved directly in a loyalty travel reward programme for the first time as it joins forces with NatWest.

The bank, which is changing its travel reward policy from Airmiles to YourPoints, says that the rewards are now broader and easier to achieve.

Ebookers is also part of the deal and NatWest credit card customers will be able to redeem points for any products available through the online travel agent or the budget airline.

On the old system of Airmiles, customers would have had to spend £8,000 to earn a trip to paris while under the YourPoints scheme they only need to spend £4,300 on their NatWest credit card in qualifying ways, claims a statement by the bank.

The new scheme is available to existing NatWest customers who collected Airmiles, and will be free to customers who spend £1,000 or more a month but others will have to pay £3 to be eligible.

While NatWest customers can still redeem their Airmiles points, the loyalty scheme has moved another Big Four bank, Lloyds TSB, which will make it available to Duo Card customers who have two credit cards but one interest rate, statement and pin.

Lloyds TSB customers will earn Airmiles twice as fast, collecting one for every £10 spent instead of one for every £20 as it was under NatWest.
