Post Office to offer pet insurance cover

The Post Office has recently announced that it will be offering pet insurance cover to pet owners.

The Post Office Service has really branched out over recent years, offering a wide range of new services and products, from foreign currency to broadband, and the availability of pet insurance cover is its latest offering.

Pet insurance has proven popular amongst pet owners that want to ensure that their pet can get treatment as and when required without having to worry about finances.

A Post Office official stated:

“Dogs and cats are often a huge part of the family with 11% of people saying they would re-mortgage their house to pay for a vet bill.”

The pet insurance cover will cover veterinary bills for cats and dogs for up to £5000 per condition, and will be available to animals of all ages. There is a fixed excess of £75 with the policy. Insured pets will also be covered for emergency cattery or kennel fees as well as being covered abroad.

The Post Office pet insurance cover may prove most popular amongst older pet owners, who see the Post Office as a trusted household name. The broadband service that was launched by the Post Office also proved popular amongst older customers.
