Two banks waive credit card fees
January 12, 2007
The Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank are waiving balance transfer fees until February 28th for new credit card customers wishing to transfer their balances to their 6month 0% introductory offer.
These 2 banks (like so many others) normally charge a fee when customers transfer a balance from a competitor’s card. Usually this sits at 2%, but if customers apply for a ‘Gold’ MasterCard with either the Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank, they are willing to waive this fee until February 28th. (Please note there is no minimum income level required in order to qualify for this card.) If we looked at the example of transferring £2,500 from a different card, you could make a saving of £50. Furthermore, the 0% rate they are offering for 6months also applies to purchases. At the end of the 6month period, the typical APR is 14.9%.
An additional ‘bonus’ feature with these banks’ cards is that they do not carry an annual fee and also they offer their cardholders “Latitude”-which is a concierge-style travel and leisure advice/booking service.
This service is provided by Travelex and benefits include access to emergency travel advice, information on your chosen destination, gift ordering and ticket booking services.
