The debate continues over bankruptcy

The debate continues over bankruptcyThe debate still continues over bankruptcy and this time it is thought that too many people choose bankruptcy as an easy way out. The question is – is bankruptcy too easy and should it be harder to achieve bankruptcy if needed?

There are certainly some people who say that by declaring yourself bankrupt you are taking the easy way out. People who constantly pay their monthly loan amounts off are outraged that they have to suffer because many people choose to simply take bankruptcy. The bankruptcy figures have caused an increase in interest rates to other customers because the loan companies are losing money. So on one side of the argument people are asking why they should have to pay for somebody else’s mistakes.

On the other hand people who actually do declare themselves bankrupt will no doubt shed a different light over the whole thing. It is very unlikely that they see the process of bankruptcy as easy and an easy way out. In fact, bankruptcy does tend to cause an awful lot of heartache and as well as being publicly disgraced, you also have many possessions taken off you and it goes on your record for up to 10 years, making it impossible to get a mortgage for that time period.

So, overall bankruptcy is definitely no walk in the park, but it does seem to be the only option open to many. There are people who do see it as an easy way out but they will soon realise that it is not when they actually start the proceedings to declare themselves bankrupt. Whether the government will agree with many that bankruptcy is an easy option and that it does need to be tougher is another matter entirely. There will always be differing opinions on the matter and only time can tell what will happen over the never ending issue.
