The Bank Of England once again raise their prices

The Bank Of England once again raise their pricesFor the home owners who have adjustable rate mortgages, they will no doubt be feeling the strain. This is partly due to the fact that the Bank of England has once again highered their prices by one quarter of a point and that is going to leave many families struggling to cope. It is certainly not an ideal time to higher its prices straight after the festive period and it is likely that many people will now have quite a large debt after Christmas.

This is in fact the third change to interest rates that the Bank of England has made and each time they have highered their price. Consumers are unlikely going to be able to pay these higher fees and if price rises occur again within the next six months, it is likely that clients will try and make a switch to another mortgage company. However, it is also likely that other companies will also higher their prices in order to keep up with the competition. So, if you are thinking of taking on a variable interest mortgage you may just want to think again.

The reason these small interest rises affect people so badly is the fact that they take out mortgages which really stretch their finances. There is often barely enough money left to pay for simple living expenses, never mind for them to afford an interest price rise from their mortgage lender. This means that many families have been left with threatened repossession. With more rises predicted it is likely that repossession and bankruptcy will also be on the rise until something is done about this unbalanced situation.

So, if you are looking for a mortgage, stick with a fixed rate one. They may seem higher initially but at least you know what you are getting.
